Add a live site
Protection for a live site is a DNS change, not a migration. Your hosting, CMS and email stay exactly where they are. You point one record at the edge; hostile traffic is filtered at The Sink before it reaches your server.
1. Add the domain in your dashboard
Sign in at app.seosink.com and choose Add domain → Live site. The dashboard shows you the exact CNAME to create: a host (usually @ or www) and a target in our edge network.
2. Create the CNAME at your DNS provider
In your DNS provider’s control panel, create a CNAME record with the host and target shown in the dashboard. Do not change your nameservers and do not touch MX (email) records.
Apex domains: some DNS providers can’t place a CNAME on the bare domain (example.com). If yours can’t, use their CNAME flattening / ALIAS / ANAME feature if offered — or point www only and redirect the apex to www. Cloudflare-hosted DNS flattens automatically.
3. Verify
Back in the dashboard, press Verify. Verification runs from multiple resolvers; when the record resolves, protection activates and the domain shows Active. DNS can take a few minutes to a few hours to propagate — if verification fails at first, wait and re-verify.
What changes and what doesn’t
Your server, files, database and email are untouched. Web traffic for the protected host now passes our edge filter: hostile bots, forged referer floods and known spam-network requests get sunk; real visitors and search-engine crawlers pass through unchanged.
Important: your email
A CNAME for a live site does not affect email. Never remove or change MX, SPF or DKIM records while following this guide.
